A note: Well, I hope you like the little twist. And also, as my story commences, the longer I'll make the parts. This one isn't so long, though.
Chapter 2: Crystal Is Getting
Stalked?
The next day
I came home from school in a really happy mood. My P.E teacher had selected me
for the sports, but not for some competition but as a cheerleader girl before
every competition. Everyone who applied for the sports was divided into four
groups, each one representing a color; red, green, yellow and blue. I was in
the red one. Problem was I had never been in the cheerleader group. I was in
sports a few times but I didn’t have a clue what the cheerleaders do since I
was always away from the playground when they ‘performed’. I didn’t know what
the heck the teacher meant by ‘perform’. When I told Scott and Crystal about my
plans they were really happy. This year Scott was not in the sports but Crystal
was.
At home I
was telling every detail to Jess and Rose, they were giggling with excitement.
I think it was because they had never seen me ‘perform’-whatever that meant. I
was just casually going to ask them what they actually make you do in the cheer leading squad when Hannah stepped in the kitchen. To be honest, these days
after my little fight she could find me wherever I went. She had found me in
the library with Crystal. Then again I saw her passing by my table in the
cafeteria at lunch. It’s pretty normal, but it was sort of creepy too.
“So, you’re
really in the cheer leading squad? That’s nice. I have been qualified for the
final round of relay race,” she said. Was she complimenting me or boasting ‘bout
herself? No, she wouldn’t be complimenting me.
“Yes I know,
I heard from Anne, by the way it seems much like you’ve forgotten,” I said
giving her this evil grin type look.
It doesn’t
always come out as an evil grin. I once did it to Crystal and Scott who laughed
and said I looked adorable!
Anyway,
Hannah didn’t seem too impressed that AI had pointed something out. So she got
all in my face and was like, “Listen, I am so not happy with you. So let us
make a deal, I pretend that I’m sorry, for MOM! You get to be spared by me
wanting to humiliate you back. It’s a win-win strategy. This way everyone gets
to be a big happy family. Understand?”
I looked at
her for a very long time then muttered, “That sucks. But OK.” To be honest I was pretty happy she had decided to settle it. I knew it would end
like this, I mean we’re not going to be like enemies for life or whatever. But
since we had a fight I was pretty hacked off. Why? That is one thing I won’t
know.
But don’t get
me wrong. I’m still mad at her. That evening, she went off to Anne, her best
friend’s house. I had some time to kill. Since exams were out of my hair, I
called Crystal and Scott over to my house. Scott said he may be late because he
had to go see his grandmother but Crystal was there in a minute. It was just
like 6:00 pm so we had a lot of time. And on a much happier note I was home
alone. Jess and Rose never bother me if we don’t want them to. They’re probably
like the best sisters ever. Crystal and I talked a lot. She told me that every
year one house always does some very dangerous cheer leading, which was really
surprising to me.
Then she
told some exiting news. She said that the day before Jenny and herself were
coming back from the stadium, where she went to meet her cousin. She said that
they had asked their mom to pick them up in a short while. But actually they
didn’t really meet her cousin. They had actually been roaming around the
studio. When they got out for a drink he came with them. They were just going
back when she noticed that this guy wearing a paper mask like a surgeon was
following them. She didn’t tell Jenny because she thought Jenny might freak out
or whatever. But she leaned over and whispered her suspicion to her cousin. He
got really worried but still turned down her suggestion of running all the way
to the studio.
I was
getting really excited about this, “So what did you do?”
“Well, my
cousin turned around and started walking backwards and tried to figure out
maybe he knew the guy. But then….” She couldn’t complete her sentence. I looked
at her to see why and I realized she was silently crying. I jumped up and put a
hand around her, trying to comfort her. She continued, “Then he … he jumped on
my poor cousin. Oh God! I was so scared and I started panicking.”
I stared at
her horror stricken. What if he had jumped on our Crystal? No, Scott and I
would’ve sent him straight to hell.
